Man charged in crash that killed Arkansas man in Nebraska

BLAIR, Neb. (AP) — A Nebraska man who authorities allege was driving drunk before a crash that killed a man from Arkansas in October is jailed on $250,000 bail in Washington County.
Christopher J. Gorham, 37, of Bellevue, was charged last week with motor vehicle homicide while driving drunk. He is accused of causing a crash that killed Shawn Kimbrough, 35, of Springdale, Arkansas, on Oct. 27 on U.S. Highway 75 south of Blair.
Authorities said Gorham’s truck crossed the center line and struck Kimbrough’s vehicle head-on, The Omaha World-Herald reported.
Kimbrough died at the scene. Witnesses were able to pull Gorham from his burning truck.
According to an affidavit filed in Washington County, Gorham’s blood-alcohol content was .148 after the crash. The legal limit for adults to drive is .08.
A preliminary hearing for Gorham, who has two prior DUI convictions, will be scheduled for next month.
