Changes for Upcoming Bobcat Volleyball Matches

(Peru, Neb.) – For the Peru State volleyball fans who were gearing up to finally see a home match this coming Tuesday, well, plans have changed.
What was to be the Bobcats' home opener with Graceland scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 29, has been moved to Oct. 15, due to Covid-19.
"This decision was made out of abundance of caution for the health and safety of our student-athletes," stated Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) commissioner Lori Thomas. "The conference and teams are adhering to the outlined guidelines in the Heart Promise."
The decision came after contact tracing and cautionary quarantine procedures were enacted. Postponing the game allows student-athletes to return to the court in the safest manner possible by allowing the appropriate time for practice and physical reconditioning.
The Bobcats will still be playing this weekend as they will face Benedictine in Atchison, Kan., Friday night with the junior varsity beginning at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity competition at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Peru State will finish the weekend in Baldwin City, Kan., taking on Baker at 6 p.m. in varsity competition only.
The Bobcats will now open at home on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. against Culver-Stockton (Mo.) in a varsity match.
In addition, the Bobcats have added a non-conference opponent – Morningside (Iowa) to their schedule on Oct. 29 with the junior varsity playing at 5 p.m. and varsity following at 7 p.m.
