Palmyra's Jackson Junker Signs with Peru State MBB

(Peru, Neb.) – The Peru State men's basketball coaching staff recently announced the signing of Jackson Junker of Palmyra. Junker is a recent graduate of Palmyra High School and signed his letter of intent on February 21.
The son of Lisa and Kevin Junker plans to major in business management.
The 6-6 Junker played in 17 games while putting up some good numbers. He averaged 7.8 points per game, 0.8 assists per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, 0.5 steals per game, and 0.6 blocks per game.
The Panthers basketball team went 19-7 overall and earned the eighth seed in the 2020 Class C2 Nebraska State tournament. They would eventually lose to top-seeded Grand Island Central Catholic in the first round in a hard-fought contest 41-38.
In addition to an athletic scholarship, Junker is receiving the President's academic scholarship.
The basketball team plans on opening up their season on October 30 when they travel to Hastings, Neb. for a classic. They will play Concordia at 5 p.m. on the first day and Hastings at 4 p.m. on day two.
