West Nebraska All-Star Games set for this Friday

The West Nebraska All Star games are set for this Friday in Scottsbluff. Wednesday both the volleyball and football All-Stars were at Bearcat Stadium to talk with the media.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The West Nebraska All-Star games are set for this Friday in Scottsbluff. Wednesday both the volleyball and football All-Stars were at Bearcat Stadium to talk with the media.

It was also a chance for players and coaches to meet before practices started. The 42nd annual West Nebraska All Star Football game is set for 7pm at Bearcat Stadium. While the 36th annual West Nebraska All Star Volleyball game is set for 4pm at WNCC’s Cougar Palace.

There will be COVID-19 guide lines for the games. Including limited fans at both venues as tickets can only be purchased at the gates. Temperatures will be checked at the gates as well on Friday. Social distancing will be set up in the stands of both games. People who are sick are asked to stay at home and not try to make it to the games.

West Nebraska All-Star media day

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The 42nd annual West Nebraska All-Star Football Game, and 36th annual West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game will be played in Scottsbluff on Friday, July 24.

Wednesday, players participating in the game met with members of the media, and several local athletes shared their thoughts on the game.

“I think it’s going to be really fun,” said St. Pat’s volleyball players Kinsey Skillstad. “All these girls are really amazing athletes, so I’m really excited to play with them.”

“It’s good to get back at it just one more time, since we didn’t have that [spring] season,” said Ogallala volleyball player Jaedy Commins.

“It really means a lot and I know it means a lot to these guys. It’s just a great experience to get out here and have with these guys,” said Ogallala football player Alex Patrick.

“It’s pretty exciting,” said North Platte football player Dalton Caley. “It’s kind of my last hurrah, so it’s something I have been looking forward to for a while. I’m a competitive person, so I like to play to win.”

“It’s definitely competitive, there’s already been some smack talk between the teams. It’s going to be competitive, but it’s just really fun being out here and playing with a lot of guys,” said St. Pat’s football player Charles Aufdenkamp.

The volleyball game will be held 4 p.m. MDT at WNCC Cougar Palace, and the football game will be 7 p.m. MDT at Bearcat Stadium.
