NEBRASKA CITY-The Nebraska City Post 8 Seniors faced Lincoln Southeast JC Brager in the Mike Peterson tournament on June 27th and lost 12-0 in a run rule shortened game. They faced off again at Clemmy Holmes field on Sunday and the outcome was much different.

Clay Stovall threw 6 shutout innings to lead Post 8 Seniors  past Lincoln Southeast JC Brager Varsity 8-0 on Sunday.

In the first inning, Post 8 Seniors  got their offense started with Stovall driving in the first run of the game on with a double scoring Quintin Holman.

Post 8 Seniors tallied four runs in the second inning and were led by Eli Southard, Quintin Holman, and Brayden Betts, who all drove in runs.

Jacob Aldridge recorded the first hit of the game for JC Brager in the fourth inning.

Stovall was the winning pitcher for Post 8 Seniors and allowed three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out two.

Connor Pfundt took the loss on the mound for Lincoln Southeast JC Brager Varsity. He surrendered five runs on six hits over one and one-third innings, walking zero

Post 8 Seniors racked up 12 hits on the day. Southard, Stovall, Holman, Jaren Johansen, Betts, and Max Chaney all collected multiple hits for Post 8 Seniors . 

The win moves Post 8 to 10-9 on the season. They will next be in action on Monday, July 13th at Ashland in a Junior/Senior doubleheader starting at 5:30.
