Gering bowling alley set to reopen in June

GERING, Neb. After being closed for close to two months, Classic Lanes in Gering is set to reopen their doors on June 1st.
The decision to close on March 30th comes from the ten person or less restriction.
Once the bowling alley reopens, staff can have up to 25% capacity or in their case, 75 people at a time.
The bowling area, bar and kitchen will be open.
The arcade games and pool section will be closed.
In the bowling area, there will be para-lanes in between bowlers.
Families can have up to ten at a lane.
There are no age restrictions to bowl.
Staff asks for children not to leave the bowling area and not to run around.
As Classic Lanes becomes the only bowling alley left in the Scottsbluff and Gering area, their closure would mean the end of bowling within these areas.
“I just hope that the community does come out and support us because we are the only bowling alley right now and I would like to keep it open,” explained Nicky Stich, Owner.
Since the closure, there has been no revenue coming into the business.
Employees during this time are being paid from the Paycheck Protection Plan.
Staff will take extra cleaning precautions including making sure all bowling balls are wiped down after usage, all scoreboards wiped down as well, hand sanitizer will be provided and Lysol will be used as well.
Stich hopes to start a league this summer; aiming for the August date.
When the bowling alley reopens, it will start at 1:00pm Monday through Saturday for the next couple of weeks.
If staff does not see an increase in business, the opening time will be moved to 4:00pm.
The best way to contact Classic Lanes is on their Facebook page.

TERRYTOWN, Neb (KNEP) As businesses look to reopen and limit restrictions put in place as we move to the next phase, entertainment companies in the panhandle are already making their play.
Bowl Arena in Terrytown opened their doors to bowlers the second week in May.
For now, the schedule is limited,
Friday 4PM-9PM
Saturday 1PM-9PM
Sunday2PM-8PM
They have hopes of opening in full by June first, as long as safety measures allow.
You can make appointments within the time frames for Friday through Sunday. Management is also requesting that all customers wear masks, however, they are not enforcing it.
Food and beverages will be sold as normal and staff will be cleaning the equipment in the facility to ensure they are following the health guidelines
One thing that Ed Johnson, the alley's manager says, " I wish that the weather would be better for bowling." concluding that not many people go bowling when the weather is nice.
Johnson also says, "The customers will drive our hours. If we don't have anybody here or haven't had anybody here for several hours then we will close early. Reservations will be given priority over walk-ins until we get to full-normal hours with all twelve lanes being able to be used."
You can reserve for parties, business parties and any other event you can think of, as long as it falls within the guidelines and limited number of people in the building.
Bowl Arena has high hopes of seeing the ball rolling once more.
" I am a people person", says Johnson, " I love interacting with the people and helping teach the kids a few pointers."
His wife also enjoys seeing the kids and the bowling teams coming from near and far, " I hold a special place in my heart for the children" she says.
"We are very family-orientated and that is what I love about our business, we are local and we are here to provide a fun time. If you are not having fun we aren't either." Johnson says.
We asked Ed what he could say to his avid customers and he says, "Come Bowl"
