CHADRON, Neb. Chadron Police Department received a report of a possibly intoxicated driver near downtown Chadron early this morning.

Officers located the vehicle as well as the driver who identified as 25-year-old Tucker Keiser of Chadron.

Officers began a DUI investigation after Keiser was located.

Keiser was arrested as a result of this investigation.

Upon checking his criminal history, officers discovered several prior arrests and convictions for DUI.

Keiser submitted to a chemical test of his breath at the Chadron Police Department which indicated a BAC of .169, which is over twice the legal limit of .08.

That BAC level enhances the penalty for 3rd Offence DUI to a Class IIIA Felony.

Keiser was transported to the Dawes County jail without incident where he remains with a bond of 10% of $10,000.

Keiser is also out on bond from Dawes County for a DUI 3rd arrest in February of this year as well as a felony arrest for assaulting a subject in Chadron and also assaulting a Chadron Police Officer and resisting arrest in March of this year.

Officer Patrick Young says that according to the CDC, “every day, 29 people in the Unites States die in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol-impaired driver.

That is one death every 50 minutes and the annual cost of alcohol-related crashes totals more than $44 billion.

Don’t drink and drive, it slows your reaction time.”

If you want to report an impaired driver, dial 911 or your local law enforcement agency.

The Chadron Police Department was assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol.
