NORFOLK - As officials continue to investigate the shooting in Norfolk from Sunday morning, little details are available about the cause of the incident or the condition of the victim. NCN caught up with the victim's grandson, Griffen Wieneke, who described some of the injuries:

“Underneath his jaw, it's all bloody and skin is missing,” Wieneke says. “His left arm is broken and all of the skin underneath his arm is gone and you can see his bone. His whole chest has bebe marks from the shotgun, and on his right arm, the skin is gone, and I think they said he has bebe's in his liver.”

The family remains optimistic about his recovery, as they have seen him come back from similar wounds in the past.

“He's been shot with a shotgun before, it's unbelievable how he's lived before. He's doing alright, they said he got out of surgery here a couple of hours ago…my Mom and family have been up there with him.”

The family says the victim has been shot two times in the past but this time, officials are saying he has undergone surgery as of Sunday…but he remains in critical condition.

“My Mom and my aunts are all pretty devastated,” Wieneke adds. “He looks pretty bad.”
